World Biyodiversity Day/ 22 May 2021
Biological diversity is often understood in terms of the wide variety of plants, animals, and microorganisms, but it also includes genetic differences within each species for example, between varieties of crops and breeds of livestock and the variety of ecosystems (lakes, forest, deserts, agricultural landscapes that host multiple kinds of interactions among their members (humans, plants, animals).
The number of species is being significantly reduced by certain human activities. We should turn to clean energy, give importance to recycling, and find solutions to plastic waste. We must take these precautions to protect all living things in nature and our health. Loss of biodiversity threatens all, including our health.
Look closely at nature. Every species is a masterpiece, exquisitely adapted to the particular environment in which it has survived. So let's protect nature.
This year 2021 the theme is “We’re part of the solution”. The slogan was chosen to be a continuation of the momentum generated last year under the over-arching theme, “Our solutions are in nature”, which served as a reminder that biodiversity remains the answer to several sustainable development challenges.
Let’s celebrate Earth Biodiversity Day with utmost dedication, it will be beneficial for our protection.
